Vanessa Garcia is a proud addition to the Casa Familia family. Vanessa attended the Honors College at Miami Dade College, where she received an Associate in Arts degree. She is currently a student at the University of Miami, majoring in Journalism with a minor in Business Law on the pre-law track. Vanessa has always been an advocate for those living with disabilities. She lives in the same household with her 50-year-old uncle who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at birth. This has influenced her to strive to develop initiatives that can better the lives of those living with disabilities. While a student at Miami Dade College, she was a part of the creation of a new club, “We the Pieces”, that promotes awareness for various disabilities. Vanessa recently served on Casa Familia’s Young Professionals Executive Board for the past year and is proud to be the new Advancement Coordinator.
