
Ron Reis, M.D.
Gulliver Prep’s 1982 valedictorian, Ron left Miami to pursue his undergraduate and medical education through a combined 6-year BS/MD Honors program in Albany NY. After completing a surgical residency in Texas and a cardio thoracic surgical fellowship in Maryland, Ron returned to South Florida in 1996 to establish a successful private practice of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. A diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and the National Board of Medical Examiners, he earned Fellowship into the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and was elected as Fellow to the American College of Chest Physicians. In 2019, Ron was awarded a master’s degree in public health at Johns Hopkins University where he collaborated with researchers in the development of early modeling strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now back in South Florida, he devotes his time and resources to promote community-based health initiatives and health advocacy for vulnerable populations.
