Non-profit Casa Familia intends to open the first phase of “The Village of Casa Familia” in the first half of 2026. The community, which will include three phases, is geared toward individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The organization’s website shares that the first phase will yield a three-story building with 50 apartments, including one-bedroom and two-bedroom floorplans. Monthly rent will not comprise more than 30 percent of a tenant’s income. Communal amenities will include an 11,000-square-foot community center, game room, movie theater, and swimming pool and spa. There will also be a sensory “chill” room, half-court basketball court, and lighted walking paths.
The Village of Casa Familia itself will be within walking distance of a CVS, Publix, and Bank of America, situated along major public transit lines. The second and third phases will offer four six-bedroom homes, along with 60 additional apartments. The Village of Casa Familia is currently unfolding on an undeveloped nine-acre site, and it’ll cost $42 million to complete. It is one of six housing developments in the Sunshine State that offers this type of housing situation.
Atlantic Pacific Companies is the general contractor. RAM Partners will manage the site, and United Community Options of South Florida will offer support and resources to tenants. The Village of Casa Familia will be located at 11025 SW 84th St., Miami, FL, 33173, in Miami-Dade County.
